CONSORZIO INTERUNIVERSITARIO BIOTECNOLOGIE

The main mission of Consorzio Interuniversitario per le Biotecnologie (CIB) is to promote the development of knowledge, the promotion of innovation, and the development of enterprises as strategic objectives for the country's development in the field of Biotechnology.
It acts mainly by promoting and coordinating advanced training, scientific research and technology transfer activities for the implementation of innovation. CIB is divided into about 200 Operational Units operating at the consortium member universities, which constitute a network that fosters the creation of contacts both vertical, that is, at various levels of investigation and interest (from molecular to macroscopic), and transversal, involving the different areas of agri-food, biomedical, industrial, pharmaceutical, veterinary and environmental biotechnologies. 
Contamination between the various cultural and methodological areas and approaches is the challenge that CIB has undertaken in the conviction that only through such exchanges and interactions can synergies be generated that can flow into the realization of innovative products and projects.
